Mariposa Co-op interior
Hi! We’re really excited that you are interested in joining Mariposa Co-op! Below is some information about joining and shopping at Mariposa, as well as some further explanation of what it means to be part of a non-profit member-run food cooperative.
How can I join?
You may join by filling out a membership form at the checkout desk. Each member is required to pay member equity. The total member equity for a one membership account is $100. For those who cannot pay $100 upon joining, a minimum payment of $20 is required and $20 is billed each Fall to accounts who have not reached their $100 ceiling. This member equity is your “owner investment” in the co-op and is refundable when you end your membership (unless you owe money or work hours). Each adult member also pays $40 per year in member dues and agrees to work on average two hours every four weeks. Mariposa allows non-members to shop one time. After that, you must become a member to continue shopping.
Keep in mind, that in our current location, we sometimes become too full to accept new members. When this happens, we encourage you to add your name to our temporary membership waiting list and speak to a staff person about any questions you may have.
